CPCAB Qualification in Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

CPCAB Awarding Body

Our Diploma is based  on an Integrative Approach to Counselling. It is a combined approach and incorporates various theories from within the three main approaches to Counselling.   These approaches to counselling are; Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Following on from the theories introduced on the Studies course you will look further into concepts from Freud and Erikson, attachment theory, person-centred theory, transactional analysis and CBT. The course also covers ethical practice and risk assessment, mental health issues. You will start to experience what it feels like to be in Practice and the importance of knowing ourselves at a deeper level. In the second year you will have a placement, completing 100 hours of supervised practice as a trainee counsellor in a counselling agency. During the course you will begin or continue in personal therapy and complete at least thirty hours as a client, although we encourage you to have as much personal therapy as possible during your training

Places are limited and dependant on an Interview, where we will need to see your Level 3 Port Folio and a Reference from your previous learning establishment.
